Melancholy Mood

on December 19, 2013

Decide if you think this sounds like something out of the 70s…

Melancholy_Cat

There is a touch of sadness
When the skies are grey
Storm clouds approachin’
No sunshine today

Melancholy_Cat2

Mood turned melancholy
Feelin’ the blues
Watchin’, waitin’
Wantin’ good news

Melancholy_Cat3

World is sad
Time for heavy thinkin’
Life even sadder
Age comes a creepin’

Melancholy_Cat4

Hauntin’ melodies
Pierce the dank air
Voices of the past
Reflect despair

Melancholy_Cat5

Youth is over
New wrinkles in sight
Dreams vanquished
Blackened like night

Melancholy_Cat6

Midlife crisis
Knockin’ at my door
Gone’s immortality
I’d been hopin’ for

Immortality? I’ll settle for not requiring major surgery and being able to breathe. Right now, that sounds just fine. Gray skies? How about NOT SNOWING skies? That works for me. Merry merry 🙂

  3. Sweet portraits of cats. So often, on the web, cats are used for humor–and I too laugh–but cats are also Dignity personified. Your photos capture that. The last one of a black cat looks just like my precious Tank, by the way. Thanks!

Very interesting prose. I liked the pictures also. The entire post is very eye-catching as well as emotionally gripping.

    Thank you.
