“This is why you marry your best friend.”

on October 7, 2012

Repinned from for the heart by Barbara Eastlick

There are many who say, “I married my best friend.” Perhaps they grew up in the same neighborhood, attended the same church or school, or simply met somewhere along life’s highway. Whatever the situation, they bonded. . .a bond that remained taut through good times and bad, happiness and heartache.  None of these times went lacking for humor.

Smiles and laughter keep the mind active, fill the heart with joy and supply food for the soul.  ~ catnipoflife

Love, lust, beauty … they fade, but a good friend is forever. That’s what keeps us going. If you aren’t friends, you’ll never survive growing old.

  2. thank you for this it is so true and beautiful. My best friend of 47 yrs passed last year and I have to say we either laughed at each other or together, fought like friends do but always came back with love in our hearts and laughter our making up..

  3. Lovely words Sharla, and lovely pic too. So true, without friendship no relationship can stand the test of time….

I used to want a more romantic love as those who read my book may have seen between the lines-however, all my friends who went for the hot romance were divorced within a few years and here I am still mostly happily married after almost a lifetime.
