This is so true. How many of us can remember the gifts we got for the holiday by the next year or two? But we do remember being with loved ones, and the wonder feeling of family ties, along with traditions that we pass on down to our own children etc.

Seeing your photo of two little kids holding a Christmas give brought back memories of Christmas past. As kids about the same age my brother, ED, and I loved Christmas. We generally got one special gift each for Christmas along with small gifts exchanged between brothers & sisters. We saved all year to take our $10 to our local Ben Franklin 5 and 10 cent store. There, we bought all our gifts for family members. Our mother guided our choices on what the other kids wanted/needed. We had more fun buying & then wrapping those gifts than anything I now buy as an adult, no matter what the cost. These are fond memories indeed.
